Story of the Lotus
I believe that in many ways, our life’s journey can be similar to that of the lotus flower. The roots of the Lotus grow deeply in the mud, the stem ever reaching for the sunlight to break through to the surface of the water allowing the leaves to expand and grow until an amazing flower appears and floats gently upon the surface yet is completely grounded to the earth.

For me this symbolizes the human condition and the murky journey that our lives sometimes take. We can be rooted in dark, muddy soil that holds us back from being our best selves, but as we learn to break free by becoming more educated, strengthened and grounded; we move towards the light in whatever form that may take for each of us.

As we reach for more – from ourselves and others around us – we become stronger, sturdier and more sure of ourselves. As we continue to mature, educate ourselves and become more of who we are meant to be, we start to bloom, flower and radiate love, joy and happiness.

I know that I am the woman I am now because of the difficulties and challenges, as well as, the joys and blessings I have experienced in my life. I am grateful for all who have crossed my path and look forward to those I have yet to meet.
